    I used to have a few embeded video from vimeo

    I cannot embed any from the backoffice anymore,
    is this issue known by anyone ?

    Are you using the block editor (Gutenberg)?

    You can go to the content you are creating and add a new block by pressing “+”. Then you go to Embeds > Vimeo.

    Please try checking if you are putting a space when you insert the link. You could also try just paste the link as a text in the paragraph block and see how it goes.

    Hi there,

    I just found out that it is a bug on 5.2.1. Please try installing the Gutenberg plugin, and it might fix your problem.

    I tested the Vimeo video with your URL (https://vimeo.com/333519775) on WordPress 5.2.1 and can reproduce the problem. If I install the Gutenberg plugin, everything is working.

    So this issue should be fixed in the next WordPress update.

    Hi there,

    I’m trying to embed a video from vimeo. When i insert the shortcode it appears and all looks fine but as soon as i press the update button it vanishes. I’ve made sure that on the vimeo side the embedding is all open and don’t know what else the problem might be.

    This is still an issue. What I found is if you have security on your vimeo video the proxy script that wordpress uses to convert the video into the embed code doesn’t work cause it gets an error code from vimeo. If you upload and insert the video link before the video transcodes on Vimeo it will work or you can convert the video link manually and insert that. I would like to see the script get updated to just do it on it’s own.
