ArcaOS 5.0.4 includes well over 100 updates and fixes since 5.0.3. The USB stick image package has also been updated to incorporate the latest changes in ArcaOS 5.0.4 and is now personalized, delivered in the same archive as the ISO itself, and may be created using any major operating system at hand (Windows, Linux, MacOS, and of course, OS/2. Download the ArcaOS 5.0.2 ISO as usual. Download the ArcaOS 5.0.2 USB image package. Extract the image package to the same directory as the ISO. Optional: Verify the MD5 checksum of the.imz. Insert a USB stick of at least 1799MB in size TO BE OVERWRITTEN.

System Requirements for ArcaOS

  • Intel Pentium Pro / AMD K6 or higher CPU; 64 bit CPU’s are supported.
  • 512MB RAM (2GB recommended).
  • Traditional BIOS (or fully-capable CSM for UEFI-based systems).
  • Supported card/chipset for network access (see this wiki page for more details).
  • Supported card/chipset for audio (see this wiki page for more details).
  • 2GB free disk space.
  • USB or PS/2 port for keyboard and/or mouse.
  • DVD drive (internal or USB-attached) or USB stick (flash drive) at least 2GB in size required for installation; DVD burner required to create DVD installation media (not necessary for USB stick).

ArcaOS 5.0.5 introduces support for xHCI (USB3) controllers to install on a wider array of systems than ever before. What’s more, for updaters, even if your USB controller was previously unsupported, and you had to install or update from DVD in the past, you may now boot into the installer from USB stick to perform the update. USB3-attached keyboards and mice should work, as well.

ArcaOS 5.0.5 includes over 100 updates, enhancements, and fixes since 5.0.4 was released. If you have experienced difficulty installing previous releases of ArcaOS on your hardware, the fixes and updates included in 5.0.5 may address your issue(s).
